Cantigny is host to numerous special events, concerts, weddings, garden tours, museum tours, lectures, horticulture workshops, fitness classes, and more throughout the year.
Position Summary
We are looking for an IT Technician to provide installation and user support for computer systems at the McCormick Foundation and Cantigny Park. The IT Technician provides support for network, server, and voice infrastructure. This position also helps maintain existing SQL databases and creating new ones for testing and production. This position plays an important role in the daily operations of the Foundation. The ideal candidate has at least three to five years of professional experience with an emphasis on servers, networks, software and cloud systems. They will also bring excellent customer service skills and thrive on creating efficiencies and supporting a team. This is a full-time position based in Chicago and Wheaton that reports to the Director of IT Infrastructure & Security.
Essential Functions
Ensures adequate maintenance of all computer-based information technology at the Foundation including personal computers, servers, local area networks and telephones Installs and tests hardware technology insuring functionality and compatibility with existing systems; ensures accuracy of systems/parts inventory Monitors, resolves and updates ticket statuses on all user requests using in-house help desk system Processes all new hire and termination requests, in accordance with IT and HR procedures Assists in creating, updating and amending existing SQL databases Reviews and periodically tests proper data backup procedures to ensure safety and integrity of historical data files Provides training and assistance for end-users on operations and capabilities of all computer and communication equipment Provides for personal safety in the workplace by taking responsibility for avoiding situations with the potential for personal injury, attending and completing all required safety training, knowing and following existing safety rules including the applicable use of personal protection equipment, the proper operation of tools/machinery and proper handling of hazardous materials, and reporting any unsafe conditions to respective supervisor Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in computer science/technology or related field preferred; technical training, vendor certification or other accredited programs preferred. 3-5 years of experience. Skills:
Experience an emphasis on Microsoft servers, networks, software and cloud systems; demonstrated experience with SQL Server This position has access to all files and financial databases with domain administrator level access, and requires personal and professional integrity to manage sensitive and confidential information Outstanding project management skills and attention to detail Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills Adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Demonstrated passion for the Foundation's values with commitment to deliver results measured against the Foundation's mission Salary Range:
$65,000-$70,000
Working Conditions:
This is a full-time position based in Chicago and Wheaton that reports to the Director of IT Infrastructure & Security. Most work is performed in a typical office environment.
