Responsibilities/Accountability:

  1. Screens incoming calls/mail/email correspondence and responds independently when possible.
  2. Manages workload and acts as gatekeeper for College of Nursing masters of nursing matters; Answers the telephone and directs all incoming calls to the appropriate person promptly and efficiently; Maintains a complete filing system for documents in the College of Nursing; Collects and distributes mail and other correspondence; Maintains confidentiality of all College of Nursing materials; Arranges travel itinerary and reservations for the Dean, faculty, consultants, etc.; Maintains documents that must be reviewed periodically; Keeps a running tally of expenditures in selected budget areas to prevent cost over runs; Submits requisitions for purchase orders for the College of Nursing masters of nursing program and logs receipt of orders; Compiles reports for various agencies and organizations (e.g. Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) and Louisiana State Board of Nursing (LSBN)); Provides onboarding for students admitted to the masters of nursing; Interfaces with the LSBN regarding licensure verification for masters nursing majors. Prepares affiliation contracts; Maintains a system for validating faculty licensure renewal; Takes minutes for College of Nursing graduate education meetings. Is a member of the College of Nursing Admission,

Progression, and Retention Committee; Screens master nursing majors students' folders for completeness; Maintain files of active and inactive students; Mails materials to inquirers requesting information; Composes, compiles, proofreads and edits all outgoing correspondence and reports at the discretion of the Dean; Maintains confidentiality of all College materials; Adheres to the Dillard University Employee Handbook.

  • Bachelor's degree. Graduate education preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, Excel and other MS functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively deal with diverse groups and individuals at various levels within the organization and the public.

Work Conditions

May require long hours sitting in front of a computer, walking across campus, and/or bending, stooping and lifting up to 20lbs. Work commencement


Other:

Scope of work includes preparation for site visits by accrediting and approval organizations. Coordinating of College of Nursing events related to graduate education expected.
