SUMMARY: Maintains accurate and systematic financial records for the School District.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Prepare documents for bank reconciliation.
  2. Complete monthly bank reconcilliation.
  3. Assist with annual audit.
  4. Assist with counting of cafeteria funds on a periodic basis and balance Vanco payments.
  5. Responds to expenditure questions from District responsibility centers.
  6. Prepares and maintains reports for Federal Grant Programs and other grants as needed.
  7. District banking and recording of cash receipts on computer.
  8. Maintains required documents for transparency on School District Website.
  9. Working knowledge of payroll procedures & reporting helpful
  10. Working knowledge of accounts payable/receivable helpful
  11. Other duties as assigned
  12. Successful completion of all mandated criminal background screenings & fingerprinting as required

EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE:

High School Graduate or equivalent with 3 years accounting/bookkeeping experience (preferred)

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such a safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before vendors, administrators and staff.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentage and area. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Personal Computer and Mainframe spreadsheet experience. Technical skills to program/repair telecommunications and voice mail equipment. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
