The Registered Nurse (RN) provides and coordinates patient care, educates patients and the public about various health conditions, and provides advice and emotional support to patients and their family members. The RN ensures high standards of nursing care are consistently provided to all patients, works collaboratively with physicians, and leads other team members in delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care: Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care needs. Administer medications, perform procedures, and monitor patients' health conditions.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to provide optimal, multidisciplinary care.
  • Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on disease prevention, treatment plans, discharge instructions, and at-home care requirements.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate, complete, and timely records of patient care, observations, interventions, and outcomes.
  • Emergency Response: Act promptly in emergencies, using critical thinking and clinical skills to stabilize patients in urgent situations.
  • Quality Improvement: Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives, helping develop and implement evidence-based best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN preferred).
  • Licensure: An active registered nurse license in Arkansas or the ability to obtain it upon hire.
  • Experience: 2 years as an RN in a clinical setting preferred
  • Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is required; ACLS, PALS, and other specialty certifications may be preferred or required based on department needs.

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides essential nursing care to patients under the supervision of registered nurses (RNs) and physicians. The LPN assists in planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, contributing to a high standard of care within the healthcare facility.

Standard Key Responsibilities for LPN (these will vary based on experience and actual assignment):

  • Patient Care: Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, wound care, and monitoring vital signs.
  • Daily Living Assistance: Support patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, and mobility, promoting independence wherever possible.
  • Documentation: Accurately document patient status, interventions, and any changes in condition; maintain thorough and timely records in accordance with facility policies.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the healthcare team to implement care plans and achieve patient-centered outcomes, following guidance from RNs and other healthcare providers.
  • Patient & Family Education: Assist in educating patients and their families on basic care instructions, post-discharge plans, and general wellness.
  • Infection Control & Safety: Follow safety and infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Completion of a state-approved LPN program.
  • Licensure: An active LPN license in Arkansas or the ability to obtain it upon hire.
  • Experience: 1-2 years as an LPN in a clinical setting preferred
  • Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is required; additional certifications may be preferred based on department needs.
