About the job


We are seeking a dedicated and skilled RN specializing in Labor and Delivery to join a dynamic team at a reputable healthcare facility in Birmingham, AL. This is a contract-based opportunity, offering you the chance to provide exceptional care and support to mothers and newborns in a well-established hospital known for strong teamwork and exceptional patient experience.

This role is part of a 120-bed Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) unit with a Level III NICU onsite, though NICU duties are not part of this assignment. You will be actively involved in labor management, staying at the bedside with patients throughout their labor and birth journey.

What youll be doing:


  • Implement and monitor individualized patient care plans
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions as appropriate
  • Serve as the primary coordinator for all disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care
  • Carry out physician and nursing orders accurately and efficiently
  • Assist with discharge planning in collaboration with the healthcare team


Requirements:


  • RN Labor and Delivery experience (1-3 years preferred)
  • Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Ability to provide two professional references
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or Green Card holder
