Job Description
This position will be responsible for; analyzing engineering designs to develop welding requirements, writing Welding Procedure Specifications, implementing welding processes and ensuring that destructive and nondestructive testing programs are prescribed and followed at all Evapco facilities around the world. This position will also work closely with Manufacturing Engineering staff and other departments on projects involving welding and all types of fabrication work.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Write WPS’s and supporting PQR’s
Weld process development and improvement
Training and mentoring of production welders
Establish destructive and nondestructive testing programs
Train and develop weld inspectors in NDE processes
Implement and maintain systems for welder qualification and continuity
Research and implement new welding and inspection technology
Welding Fixture design and development
Monitor weld code compliance at various Evapco manufacturing facilities
Assist and participate on multi-discipline project teams
Develop and/or assist with generating project plans and budgets
Other duties as assigned
Skills Required:
Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering or Welding Engineering Technology
Minimum 5 years of experience in Welding Engineering role
Practical welding experience with SMAW, GMAW, GTAW and Oxy Fuel.
CWI credential or ability to obtain
Aptitude with 2D and 3D design software, preferably AutoCAD and Solid Edge
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project
Strong written, oral, negotiation and presentation skills
Ability to influence individuals at all levels.
Collaborative thought and actions aimed at meeting key objectives
Strong analysis and critical thinking skills
Must have valid US passport or the ability to get one
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Manufacturing environment with both shop and office presence
Intermittent standing, squatting, bending, pulling, and lifting throughout the workday
Shop environment is unconditioned, so heat/cold tolerance is required
Infrequent lifting of 50 lbs. or less
Wear PPE when required – Manufacturing Areas
Standard working hours are 8:30 – 5:00, Mon – Fri
Domestic and International travel will be required
