Description:

Acker, the oldest and most respected wine shop in America is hiring for a part-time Seasonal Stock Associate. The Seasonal Stock Associate assists in maintaining inventory levels, organizing and stocking wine products , and ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the store. This role involves heavy lifting, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Inventory Management: Receive, inspect, and unpack shipments of wine and related products. Verify accuracy of shipments against purchase orders.
• Sort and Stock Shelves: Place product on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined locations.
• Sales Associate Support: Pack orders and distribute to sales associates for processing.
• Order processing: Read customer orders and/or shipping orders to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed and/or shipped.
• Organization: Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas. Ensure storage is accessible and safe for salespeople and other team members.
• Deliveries: Deliver products by foot and/or accompany drivers in delivery vehicles.
• Loss Prevention: Assist in the regular counting of physical inventory. Follow store protocols to minimize shrinkage.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
• Team Collaboration: Work with other team members to support store and delivery operations, along with customer service initiatives.
• Additional Duties: Perform other task as assigned by Manager or Supervisors.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in retail, particularly in a wine or liquor store, is preferred but not required:
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy boxes (up to 50 lbs.).
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Driven to grow. This position has potential to develop in other areas of the business.
• Knowledge: Basic knowledge of wines and/or spirts, and the ability to learn about various wine products.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, kneel, bend, walk, and lift for extended periods.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment:

• Work is performed in a retail store environment with frequent exposure to varying temperatures and conditions.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
