YMCA of Columbia Willamette is hiring: Youth Development Sports Program Coordina

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Youth Development Coordinator for our Youth Sports programs to join our team. Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Youth Development Coordinator will assist in all areas of the Clark County Family YMCA sports leagues, sports camps/clinics, and enrichment camps, and support youth summer camps.

The Youth Development Coordinator oversees the policies, procedures and organization of the youth sports programs. The Youth Development Coordinator will also grow and expand the Youth Sports program, recruiting, hiring, training and supervising Associate 1 Level staff, and YMCA Volunteers.

Essential Duties
- Hire, train, and supervise a team of Associate 1 Level Staff (Coaches, Gym Monitors, Program Staff, Refs etc.)

- Create and manage staff and program rosters/schedules (Rosters, game schedules, etc.)

- Responsible for clear and prompt communication with all program participants, parents and volunteers.

- Perform regular and frequent program site observations, ensuring high quality program using YMCA best practices.

- Meet seasonal fiscal plans to ensure financial success of YMCA Youth Sports Programs.

- Bring innovative Youth Sports Program ideas to the Clark County Family YMCA.

- Build & expand the Youth Sports programs in participant numbers and sports offerings

- Clear and prompt communication with supervisor, staff, and participants.

- Learn the functions of multiple software’s including Daxko and Playerspace (training will be provided).

- Promote philanthropic efforts for Youth Development within the YMCA Columbia-Willamette North Region.

Additional Duties
- Participate in Staff Meetings and functions.

- Serve as Manager on Duty at the Clark County Family YMCA as necessary.

- Assist the Camp and Afterschool enrichment coordinator in program areas.

- Ability to work well in high stress situations, responding properly to complaints, critical incidents, and act swiftly in emergency situations.

- Must be able to establish harmonious relations with staff team, volunteers, donors, school districts, and local partners.

- Ability to assemble and manage large programs within the Clark County Family YMCA budget and goals.

- Provide excellent customer service to program participants.

- Must pass YMCA background check.

- 2 years of working with youth in varying capacities.

- 2 years of supervisory experience in varying capacities

- Prior work experience with Youth Sports program implementation preferred.

- Reliable transportation

- CPR and First Aid certifications or ability to acquire certifications within 30 days of employment.

- Must be available evenings and weekends for program practice times and game schedules.

- 29hrs per week
