Rebound is the largest orthopedic and neurosurgical practice in the Portland-Vancouver area with an array of sub-specialties including orthopedics, brain and spine care, sports medicine, physiatry, and physical therapy. We are looking for a full-time Physical Therapy Aide to join our amazing Physical Therapy team in Salmon Creek, WA. The Physical Therapy Aide assists various levels of personnel in their related clinical activities. This includes set-ups for patients, transportation, assisting in routine ambulation and therapeutic techniques. The Physical Therapy Aide also maintains inventory of department equipment, linen and supplies, assists with general clean-up, and performs receptionist/clerical duties as needed by the department.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer routine patient treatment and care to patients of various ages under direct supervision of the Physical Therapist and Physical Therapist Assistants.
  • Monitor patient's reaction to therapy and reports significant changes or developments to therapist.
  • Transport/escort patients to Physical Treatment treatment as needed, including wheelchair transfers from parking facilities to treatment area.
  • Be alert and helpful to ensure patients find the appropriate office, exit, etc. and offer directions when needed.
  • Check in patients in a friendly and timely manner. Communicate potential delays.
  • Facilitate information collection as needed. Confirm insurance and demographic information.
  • Promote use of the patient portal.
  • Receipt processing for copays, deductibles, deposits and residual balance payments. Maintain cash drawer protocol at all times.
  • Maintain a clean lobby environment.
  • Alert supervisor and or/administration if suspicious persons are on the premise. Contact security as appropriate.
  • Cover for front desk staff in instances of staff call-outs, staff meetings, etc.
  • Project work as needed to fill downtime.
  • Assist in department maintenance by performing light housekeeping tasks.
  • Change linen in patient treatment areas per department procedure.
  • Perform scheduled cleaning and maintenance of department equipment and supplies per department procedures.
  • Application and education of modalities such as ultrasound and ESTIM to patients, as prescribed by therapist.
  • Assist in the distribution of outcome surveys to patients and accurate entering of information into patient's electronic health record.
  • Function as purchasing coordinator by ordering of therapy supplies and equipment, maintain inventory of linens and communicate with QA department as needed.
  • Maintain provider schedules by scheduling of follow-up appointments and daily monitoring of waitlist and reschedule requests to fill cancellations or openings.
  • Perform a variety of receptionist and general clerical duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Keep informed of health care issues, changing department procedures and other department information by attending staff meetings and/or reading staff meeting minutes, e-mails and newsletters.
  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and abide by all HIPAA rules and regulations.

Required:

  • Completion of high school, GED or equivalent required. Completion of AA and/or at least 2 years of college required. Bachelors preferred.
  • BLS certified.
  • Prior experience in a healthcare setting preferred. Strong interest in physical therapy/health professions as a career preferred. Physical Therapy experience highly desired.
  • Knowledge and skills are generally acquired through on-the-job training: Ability to successfully complete Rebound Physical Therapy Department training program within two months of employment.
  • Effective organizational and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
  • Ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively.
  • Ability to prioritize in a climate of changing needs and distractions.
