POSITION PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

To oversee the daily operations at the facility and to provide support and mentoring to the residence and the contract staff. Additionally, to utilize Trauma informed care approach to promote healing in a safe, stigma-free environment with compassion for all people. Essential job functions include reviewing and enforcing apartment rules and regulations, coordinating safety inspections and cleaning schedules, assisting residents, planning social and recreational activities, maintaining monthly inventory, communicating with clinical staff regarding residents, verifying medications with medication sheet and assuring facility is safe and orderly.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Oversee Contract workers at the facility.
  • Review and enforce apartment rules and regulations.
  • Report all infractions of apartment rules and occupancy agreement to Residential Coordinator.
  • Report all problem behaviors to Case Managers and to Residential Supervisors/Coordinators.
  • Maintain control of key disbursement and replacement and follow flow chart for all emergencies.
  • Keep inventory of apartment furnishings
  • Arrange for regular fire and safety inspections.
  • Maintain weekly inspection reports.
  • Coordinate cleaning of the facility with Maintenance staff.
  • Report all major repair and/or maintenance issues to Residential Coordinator.
  • Assist clients with ADL skills as needed.
  • Coordinate and plan for social and recreational activities of residents.
  • To provide direct communication to Case Manager and other Residential Supervisors regarding clients who are residing in the facility.
  • Provide ongoing, site specific training.
  • Monitor paper work and provide feedback to the Community Support team and to other supervisors within the Residential Department.
  • Check medications to medication sheet and report findings to Residential Nurse and or the designee.
  • Assist residents with self-administration of medications as necessary.
  • Assure facility is maintained in safe and sanitary manner, and in accordance with any applicable federal, state or local laws or regulations and licensing bodies.
  • Assist in the preparation of grocery orders.
  • Oversee and assist as necessary in the preparation of nutritional menus and meals.
  • Order monthly household supplies.
  • Maintain a bi–weekly inventory of food items and monthly inventory of household supplies.
  • Ensure monthly smoke detector and fire extinguisher checks and forward information to the Residential Department
  • Ensure quarterly fire drills and forward information to the Residential Department
  • Ensure all residents sign and maintain appropriate, current, and accurate documentation.
  • Utilize respectful, trauma-informed language in all aspects of the job.
  • Collaborate with treatment team to support techniques that are client-first and include trust and respect.
  • Promote and support Trauma Informed Care implementation and initiatives within the organization
  • Utilize Trauma Informed Care approach to work collaboratively with clients and other team members (internal and external) to help support clients in their treatment and recovery
  • Must be able to react to changes and stress productively and to handle other tasks as assigned.
  • Must be able to maintain regular and predictable attendance and punctuality.
  • Must be able to get along with others and work as a team.
  • Must exhibit the knowledge, skills, abilities and minimum requirements listed in this Position Description.
  • Participate in other meetings, as deemed necessary by the department and agency needs.
  • Complete all required records, reports, documentation, and travel expense forms.
  • Attend weekly Residential meetings
  • Provide emergency backup for all Residential sites.


Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED and experience working in a residential setting.
  • Knowledge and experience in the mental health field and with substance abuse.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience with trauma-informed services or training, a plus.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • In order to perform the essential functions of this job, the employee must possess the following: A working knowledge of Riveon Mental Health and Recovery Policy and Procedures, including sensitivity to consumers and adherence to clients’ rights, confidentiality, and health and safety issues.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Most of the work will be on site at a residential living facility.
  • The individual will have frequent client contact and must have strong speaking and language skills, as well as exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Some time is spent in an office environment.
  • The employee may be required to sit for extended periods and will spend a portion of their time on the telephone.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, walk, and lift and push minimal loads at various times.


REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working in a residential setting.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of and experience in the mental health field and substance abuse required.
  • Above average communication and written skills.
  • The ability to work flexible hours.
  • Basic computer skills required, including familiarity with Windows and Microsoft Office.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.
  • Candidates with educational backgrounds and training in trauma-informed and/or trauma-specific services, a plus.
  • The necessity for travel in this job requires that the employee possess a valid Ohio driver’s license with less than 6 points in a 36-month period and use of a personal vehicle.
  • Favorable references and/or evaluations are required.
