Job Description
Antibody Drug Conjugates Internship Overview
Envision spending your summer working with energetic colleagues and inspirational leaders, all while gaining world-class experience in one of the most dynamic organizations in the pharmaceutical industry. This is a reality for AbbVie Interns.
The 2025 intern will support the AbbVie Product Development Science & Technology team as a member of Analytical Development at the new ADC Center in Waltham, MA. The ideal candidate will support and perform method development and characterization of biologic components of our clinical Antibody Drug Conjugates (ADCs) to support elucidation of structure and impact on function.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Shadow members of the analytical team to learn analytical techniques and methods.
- Collaborate with members of the process development team for generation of samples.
- Design and perform experiments to support investigations.
- Learn different instrumentation and assist in instrumentation maintenance.
- Assist in cleaning glassware, restocking lab bench materials, preparing buffers, and keeping an organized space.
- Compile and organize data within an Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN).
- Summarize results of experiments by authoring a report and poster for a final presentation.
- Present findings to AbbVie Product Development Science & Technology team in the last week of the internship.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in university, pursuing a Bachelor’s in Biology, Analytical Chemistry, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Sciences or other related field.
- Must be enrolled in university for at least one semester following the internship.
- Expected graduation date between December 2025 – June 2026.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently while meeting project goals.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to UV Spectrophotometry and HPLC preferred, but not required.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
