Kerry Biofunctional Ingredients Inc. seeks Maintenance Supervisor at its facility located at 2402 7th St NW, Rochester, MN 55901.

Key responsibilities

(5%) Responsible for ensuring all maintenance activities on site exceed the appropriate health and safety standards. (5%) Responsible for ensuring that all Kerry policies and standards are implemented and adhered to while ensuring regional, national and local legislative requirements are met by the external services/contractors utilized by maintenance. (10%) Responsible for management and delivery of the weekly Maintenance works schedule and any urgent work that arises, where necessary resetting the daily priorities ensuring the plant operation is fully supported and output is not impacted due to engineering issues. (5%) Responsible for providing the process engineering supports to daily production such as root cause analysis and troubleshooting to eliminate production losses due to contamination, equipment malfunction and human error. (5%) Identify and evaluate the potential process improvement opportunities and work as user manager for any capital project for the improvement. (5%) Develops and maintains process control program documentation. (5%) Develops Process and Product Flow Diagrams, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams, and specifications for the installation of equipment to support the manufacture of new products or to improve existing products and processes. (12%) Creating a culture of continuous improvement within the technician team; engaging team to provide feedback on ways to improve preventive maintenance procedures, reduce repetitive failures, identify ways to save costs through improved equipment reliability, working in partnership with Reliability Engineer. (10%) Apply technical skills and ingenuity to the correction of equipment problems causing excessive production downtime and maintenance work as necessary. (10%) Develop a plan and timeline to eliminate emergency repair work and maximize planned and project work ensuring the preventative maintenance plan is delivered as scheduled. (5%) Responsible for building effective teams, promoting empowered high performing employees and continually nurturing our internal talent Hold team accountable for proper documentation of work performed on a daily basis, reinforcing that work documentation is a key task of the maintenance team. (5%) Ensuring team is accurately issuing parts to their work orders to ensure high level of spares accuracy. (5%) Building accurate equipment history for troubleshooting and repair work within the Central Maintenance Management System (CMMS). (5%) Audit work performed by the technicians to ensure work was performed to Kerry's standards and all job tasks were complete. (2%) Engage production and maintenance teams in a positive and professional manner, to understand customer needs and build a track record for professionalism and credibility in understanding, responding to and communicating issues and solutions. (2%) Manage an updated maintenance library, consisting of plant drawings, equipment manuals, software program backups, regulatory and compliance files for all primary production and support equipment. (2%) Develop a recurring daily meeting schedule with the Engineering and Maintenance Manager or Plant Manager to review plant performance and set priorities. (2%) Lead structured weekly maintenance meetings with the plant management team, to review customer priorities and planned maintenance activities.

Qualifications and skills

This position requires a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Bio-Pharma Engineering or a related field plus 2 years of experience as a Maintenance Supervisor or relevant engineering occupation. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Applying maintenance best practices and working knowledge of CMMS Systems; (2) Fermentation process for food preservation manufacture and Lean manufacturing or Total Productive Maintenance; (3) HACCP, ISO & quality systems to determine, install and maintain adequate maintenance processes; (4) Building procedures based on product cost, business acumen and project management; (5) Aseptic engineering protocols and Predictive & Preventative Maintenance principles; and (6) Process Improvement delivery will be utilized to optimize our processes in order to be able to deliver our product the most efficiently while maintaining our safety and quality standards. Travel: 10% of domestic travel for training and plant visits is required.
