As part of Detection and Measurement, Radiodetection is a global leader in the design and development of equipment and software used by utility companies to install, protect, and maintain underground infrastructure networks. Through precision and magnetic locators and ground penetrating radar, we help prevent damage to infrastructure utilities and protect lives.

How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)

SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As the Sales Manager you will direct and oversee the organization's sales policies, objectives, and initiatives. Setting short and long-term sales strategies and evaluate effectiveness of current sales programs. Recommends product or service enhancements to improve customer satisfaction and sales potential.

What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)

While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:

  1. Sales Leadership


  • Manage, develop, coach, control, and motivate the sales team to develop their skills to ensure that a high professional standard is achieved, and territory targets are met
  • Manage sales incentive plans to optimize business performance.
  • Oversee and provide guidance to team members for tenders through preparation to contract award.
  • Prepare and oversee sales department budget.
  • Regular domestic and international travel to support sales team, attend trade shows and conferences
  • Establish sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for regions and territories and ensure targets are delivered through people management, performance review, reward, and individual recognition.

  1. Customer and Sales support

  • Identify and build partnerships with industry peers and industrial bodies to further SPX marine brand recognition and revenue opportunities of core and complementary products.
  • Build long-term relationships with high level / large accounts.
  • Attend Industry forums and events where necessary.
  • Assist in hosting inbound customer visits

  1. Analytics, Research, and Reporting

  • Create and execute sales strategies to grow existing channels to market and identify new ones.
  • Continually assess current business distribution channels, develop and evaluate their performance, and manage conflict, ensuring alignment with territory plans
  • Work with the finance department to manage territory and product revenue reporting.

  1. Continuous improvement
  2. Support and monitor the execution of new product introduction strategies to achieve company goals

  • Support and maintain the universal adoption and on-going usage of global sales tools and processes.
  • Work with product management to support existing product improvements and new product developments.

What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)

We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:

Required Experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or experience in industry sector - Marine.
  • Experienced sales professional with a history of new business development and strong sales management experience.
  • Proven experience with Government contracts
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Customer service orientation/ relationship building skills
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team
  • Demonstrated Negotiation skills
  • Ability to travel routinely throughout territory

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Technical ability to run Master Classes (Product Training) for Agents, Distributors, Customers and End Users
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills

Education & Certifications

  • University or college degree, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.

Travel & Working Environment

  • Ability to travel routinely throughout territory
