Buyer / Planner

We have a client located in Leetsdale, PA seeking a Buyer/Planner.

Responsibilities:

- Plan, direct, and control the purchasing and inventory planning of select products/components
- Responsible for Material Planning of components for select commodity groups
- Analyzes, evaluates, initiates, and monitors inventory stocking and ordering plans to support the inventory and production goals
- Visit vendors in coordination with the Purchasing Manager
- Investigates vendors standard of quality and their ability to deliver on time
- Within established guidelines, takes necessary material planning activities required to satisfactorily complete new product introductions (NPI), Product Change Notices (PCN) and Product Design Reviews (PDR).
- Assists with physical inventory counts
- Follows-up with vendor performances, lead times, price trends and other activities
- Support cost reduction initiatives by sending and following-up on RFQs and summarize vendor responses

Job Requirements

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Business is preferred
- Experience in fluid power industry and/or manufacturing environment is preferred
- Excellent knowledge of ERP software, SAP experience is a plus
- Must handle quality issues including initiating debit memos, NCMR reports, CPARS reports, all return transmittals and RGA returns
- Ability to analyze quotes before recommending or choosing sources of supply
