Job Description
Under general direction of the Accounts Receivable Manager, performs work of considerable difficulty and responsibility in connection with supervising the day-to-day accounts receivable operations, staff and contracted vendors.

Training and Experience:
Associate degree (60 college credit hours) in business administration, accounting or a related field AND at least one year of supervisory or team lead experience.
**Educational requirements may be offset if the applicant possesses at least four years' experience in accounts receivable**
Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must possess a valid driver's license issued by the state in which the employee resides.
Pursuant to MSD's "Substance Abuse Policy and Procedures," this position has been designated as non-safety sensitive and candidate must pass a Non-D.O.T. Drug Test for this position. Employees occupying this position are not subject to Federal (D.O.T.) Drug and Alcohol Testing Regulations.
Employees of MSD must have "meets expectations" on their last review.

Under general direction of the Accounts Receivable Manager, performs work of considerable difficulty and responsibility in connection with supervising the day-to-day accounts receivable operations, staff and contracted vendors.
Essential Functions:
- Serve as a supervisor for a Section of the Accounts Receivable Division
- Schedule, assign and monitor work of an assigned unit.
- Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations
- Supervise District processing of daily billings and remittances
- Supervise maintenance of customer files and accounts receivable information
- Authorize limited adjustments and refunds on erroneous sewer charges and cancelation of accounts
- Supervise District processing procedures for all delinquent accounts
- Coordinate collection activities, monitor performance of and serve as District liaison to third party vendors, including water providers, bill print provider and collection vendors.
- Remain current on changes in policies, procedures and services and communicate effectively to staff
- Identify needs and make recommendations regarding revisions to policies and procedures
- Present a positive and professional image of the District to customers by responding quickly, courteously and effectively to complex or elevated account inquiries
- Maintain records and prepare complex reports; assist in budget preparation.
- Access and utilize various computer systems including billing, collections, and title quote.
- Coordinate and assist with testing of computer system upgrades and actively promote the District's Customer Assistance Program.
