Benefits and Compensation Manager
We are looking for a Benefits and Compensation Manager that will establish best practices, attract high-quality employees, and reduce turnover through planning and overseeing our company's compensation and benefits programs. You will be responsible for reviewing and modifying existing programs, ensuring these deliver best-in-class results for our team and comply with current legislation.
To be successful as a benefits and compensation manager, you will be able to develop competitive and cost-efficient programs that increase employee retention and attract top talent. A top-notch candidate should have extensive experience leading compensation and benefits programs, strong vendor management, and excellent decision-making skills.
Benefits and Compensation Manager responsibilities include researching employee motives, implementing appealing rewards and tailoring benefit programs based on staff needs. To be successful in this role, you should be familiar with organizational development and employee engagement and a hands-on manager of vendors and plan execution.
Ultimately, you will build fair and attractive benefits and compensation plans that help us improve employee satisfaction and create a highly productive workplace. This position will report to the Director of Human Resources and be based at our corporate headquarters in Charlotte, NC.

Benefits and Compensation Manager responsibilities include:
- Designing fair and competitive compensation and bonus programs
- Evaluating and delivering an effective benefit package in terms of employee satisfaction and retention
- Working across the organization to deliver highly competitive programs that attract top talent in a multi-state, diverse environment
Responsibilities
- Support the organization's growth with recruitment and talent management activities.
- Identify trends and implement new practices to engage and motivate employees
- Conduct research on employee satisfaction (e.g. using surveys and quantitative data)
- Develop, implement, and administer benefit programs, policies and procedures
- Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of employee benefit programs
- Ensure programs are equitable, meet employee needs, comply with legal requirements, and are cost effective.
- Communicate with third-party services to negotiate benefit plans and resolve benefit-related issues.
- Renew our compensation plans with monetary and non-monetary benefits based on employee needs
- Design compensation packages and bonus programs that align with the company's strategic plan
- Structure compensation in ways that will yield the highest value for the organization
- Consistently evaluate market pay rates and ensure we offer competitive compensation plans
- Develop profit-sharing, incentive, employee wellness, and performance management programs.
- Prepare budgets, reports, and presentations.
- Track compensation and benefits benchmarking data
Requirements and skills
- At least 5 years of experience as a Compensation and Benefits Manager or similar role
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management, business administration, relevant field, preferred
- Relevant certifications, such as a CEBS or SHRM certification, preferred.
- Experience delivering high-quality benefit plans; including self-insured benefit plan design and administration
- Hands-on experience with HRIS or payroll software
- Knowledge of building compensation packages and bonus programs for various departments and seniority levels
- Excellent understanding of job evaluation and job analysis systems
- Strong vendor management skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Strong people and project management skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Familiarity with labor legislation
- Experience with employee satisfaction surveys
