Innovative robotics company revolutionizing global logistics and healthcare access seeks a People Operations Generalist to join their team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven organization making real-world impact through cutting-edge technology. As a key member of the People Ops team, you'll be the go-to expert for US benefits administration, leave management, and HRIS data integrity. You'll oversee comprehensive benefit plans, manage complex leave programs, and ensure smooth onboarding experiences. Someone with previous HR Generalist experience, with specialized expertise in benefits and leave management, preferably in an early-stage, scaling startup! This is a hybrid role based in South San Francisco, 3 days/week in-office. 120-140K DOE + competitive benefits, provided lunch!

Responsibilities:
- Review, design, and administer US benefit plans, including medical, dental, vision, life, fertility, and 401k, in partnership with brokers, insurance providers, and internal stakeholders.
- Manage the US leave of absence program in collaboration with a third-party leave administrator and the Payroll Team to ensure accurate execution of the leave program and leave pay. Experience with implementing and managing voluntary plans is preferred but not required.
- Handle workers' compensation claims, including reviewing claims, substantiating documentation, and involving legal counsel when necessary.
- Support the administrative aspects of the US onboarding program, including initial outreach, travel coordination, first-day logistics, onboarding presentations, employment verification, and serving as a general resource for new hire questions.
- Support employee lifecycle changes within the HRIS (onboarding, profile/team changes, departures, etc.) and maintain the HRIS as the single source of truth for employee data.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of HR Generalist experience, ideally in a fast-growing organization. 3+ years of experience in US benefits administration, including plan design, payroll coordination, and employee support. 2+ years of experience managing leaves of absence, including vendor management.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws (FMLA/CFRA, ADA, COBRA, FLSA, etc.).
- Experience in high-volume onboarding.
- Highly organized, able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong discretion with confidential information.
- Independent problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Familiarity with ATS and HRIS; Greenhouse and ADP Workforce Now preferred.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
