Duke Psychology Postdoctoral Clinical Fellowship-NC-PAL

The Division of Child and Family Mental Health and Community Psychiatry in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences invites applications for a non-regular rank appointment for a Psychology Postdoctoral Clinical Fellowship. The ideal applicant will have experience in a broad range of child and family behavioral health interventions in an academic medical center setting with an emphasis on working with children and families

Clinical responsibilities: The position offers advanced clinical training in the practice of psychology across our child and family psychology assessment, treatment, and consultation services. Approximately 80% (4 days/week) of the position involves supervised practice of clinical activities, including the provision of diagnostic evaluations, psychological testing, and psychotherapy (individual, family, and/or group) in outpatient specialty clinic settings. Clinic settings include opportunities to provide care to children and adolescents who are experiencing acute and chronic medical illnesses, autism and/or intellectual and developmental disability (IDD), pain conditions, substance use disorders, eating disorders, mood and anxiety disorders, ADHD, behavioral difficulties, traumatic stress, and somatic symptom-related disorders. Participation in multidisciplinary team meetings is also expected. There may be opportunities for participation in the pediatric inpatient consultation and liaison services.

Academic responsibilities:  Approximately 20% (1 day/week) will include participation in the North Carolina Psychiatry Access Line (NC-PAL) program. In this role, you will be involved in working with the NC-PAL team and may assist in the preparation of educational materials, program evaluation activities, and consultation to community agencies and/or collaborators (e.g., Department of Social Services, school-based health centers).  

Other responsibilities: Participate in the educational, research, and administrative activities of the Department and Division of Child and Family Mental Health and Community Psychiatry and departmental activities and meetings.

Qualifications: Applicants must have a doctoral degree in clinical psychology or related field from an APA-accredited doctoral program and completion of an APA accredited internship. Applicants must be eligible to pursue provisional licensure as a psychologist in North Carolina.
