Your responsibilities Summary: Assembly and tryout of machines Essential Duties and Responsibilities (not all inclusive) Compliance with company, legal, and regulatory requirements for Health, Safety, and Environmental topics in order to foster a culture of Health & Safety. Assemble, level, line up, tryout, and demonstrate work stations and transport systems including sub-assembly procedures such as fitting bushings and sizing spacers as necessary for final assembly completion. Run small machine shop equipment including but not limited to drill presses, Bridgeport machine and surface grinders. Read engineering drawings and schematics. Plan daily activities with a minimum amount of instruction from supervisor. Work with other skilled trades and engineering employees to trouble shoot machinery functions. Move material in the plant using cranes and forklifts. Prepare equipment for shipment to customer's plant. Mark-up build prints to reflect as-built status. Support the installation and try-out of equipment in the customer's plant if required. Other duties may be assigned as required. Your profile Education and/or Experience One-year certificate from college or technical school with three or more years related experience, or completion of apprenticeship program and/or a minimum of eight years of documented employment in related field. Skills and Ability Work experience with assembling powertrain assembly equipment and systems. Skilled in the use of light machine shop equipment including but not limited to, cut off saw, drill press, lathe, belt sander, plasma cutter, welder and cutting torches. Able to use and interpret precision instruments with skill and confidence (micrometers, verniers, indicators, precision machine levels, etc) Able to recognize manufacturing and/or engineering errors and be able to make recommendations for corrections and improvements.
