Grid Automation is an ~$850MM Business Line within GE Vernova. The North America Region within Grid Automation ("GA") is a $200MM market segment with 2 product lines: Protect, Automation and Control (PAC), and Asset Monitoring & Communications (AMC).
This role reports to the North America ("NAM") Region Finance Manager for Grid Automation. You will be responsible for GA NAM financial planning and analysis (FP&A) activities including monthly reporting, pacing and budgeting activities, as well as various improvement projects to drive stronger financial performance of the region. Job Description
Essentials Responsibilities
- Lead financial forecasting, reporting, tracking, analysis of costs and headcount for NAM Region, and HQ costs within NAM including R&D.
- Execution of North America projects business revenue recognition processes including milestone billings, cost to cost revenue recognition and point in time recognition of project deliverables.
- Partner with Operations and other functional teams to drive productivity, simplification and cost-out.
- Conduct lean month close and quarter-end activities, variance analysis and required reporting for profit and loss and Balance Sheet. Support reporting requirements for GAAP, Statutory and Management reporting filings as required.
- Support quarter end closing processes related to accruals, eliminations, daily pacing of ledger to provide timely updates to Grid Automation for NAM expected results.
- During the quarter-end reporting cycle, review and validate adjustments to management reporting system "Tableau" to report regional orders and backlog to the Grid Automation product line management team to support NAM Region reporting of performance.
- Review and validate Portfolio mix model reporting to Product Line and Regional Commercial and Operations leaders.
- Engage in margin improvement initiatives with the Project Management Office.
- Support Technology & NPI project accounting & planning activities.
- Complete Statutory reporting for Statistical Financial filings to Statistics Canada and Canada Revenue Agency as required.
- Complete ad-hoc reporting and analysis to support continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce/Business, Finance or Accounting.
- Minimum of 5 years of P&L Financial Planning & Analysis experience in a matrixed environment.
- Have legal authorization to work in Canada and be aware that any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a pre-employment verification.
Desired Characteristics
- CPA or working towards an accounting designation.
- Experienced with Hyperion reporting tools.
- Experience with SAP and/or Oracle ERP systems
- Demonstrated leadership ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Excellent analytical ability combined with strong communications skills to articulate operational drivers and their implications, results and actions to various stakeholders.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross functional teams.
- Proven organizational skills to handle multiple tasks and assign appropriate priority.
- High proficiency in data querying tools and Microsoft Excel and related Office application.
- People leader experience, able to guide/coach temporary employees or interns
