Logistics / Procurement Coordinator

Daily Thermetrics is seeking Logistics / Procurement Coordinator to join our rapidly growing design and production team. The Procurement Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating onsite work with the engineering team, designers, purchasing/requisitions and special project team personnel, as well as working alongside production management and logistics staff. The successful Procurement Coordinator will ensure that projects are completed safely and accurately, and in a timely manner to meet QA Requirements, customer demands, and tight shipping goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the project work plan process to ensure accurate and timely completion of production goals
  • Figure out optimal purchasing, procurement, expediting work flow by working with manufacturing engineering and fabrication departments
  • Read and understand technical drawings, schematics
  • Provide support to Procurement Department, assist in the preparation of RFQ's, RFP's, and purchase orders.
  • Provide support to sales by obtaining pricing from suppliers for their RFQ's.
  • Contribute to procurement cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Assist in preparing procurement status and expediting reports.
  • Assist with managing supply chain operations, assist with the movement of goods from procurement to delivery to customers, assisting with timely and efficient transportation or product
  • Assist with the storage and transportation of inventory and ensure high customer satisfaction and sales order fulfilment,
  • Organize and schedule procurements in a timely manner
  • Expedite shipments from suppliers.
  • Work with accounting to resolve Supplier invoicing discrepancies.
  • Contact Suppliers to resolve missed deliveries, short shipments.
  • Receive and close purchase orders in ERP system.
  • Familiar with 'made-to-order manufacturing' work processes
  • Coordinate work with multiple disciplines including engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, welders, and other production staff
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in procurement, business, finance or related field
  • 2-5 years of previous experience in procurement or purchasing, required
  • Working knowledge of how purchasing/expediting impacts strict Production Planning or Scheduling
  • Working knowledge and/or proven work experience with logistics, shipping of finished products (domestically and internationally)
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Excellent technical communication skills
  • Organized & detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
  • Enthusiastic team player, Creative thinker, focus on bottom-line results.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage efficiently
  • Self-driven initiative to respond to fluid work environment and rapidly changing priorities
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer other than current employer
  • Must be fluent in English, any other language skills are beneficial
  • Hands-on production, welding, fabrication, or machine shop experience is beneficial
