Procurement Specialist

Niacc-Avitech Technologies ("Niacc"), is HEICO Repair Group's west coast operation and repair station specializing in the overhaul and repair of aircraft components for regional and commercial aircraft. Niacc also manufactures various components for a wide range of aerospace customers in addition to manufacturing components for defense and government users.

We are currently seeking a Procurement Specialist to join our team. The Procurement Specialist will work within the Purchasing Department focusing on order placement, expediting and tracking, price negotiations, vendor relationships, process improvements, and aid in determining the appropriate inventory levels based on the products life cycle

Procurement Specialist's duties include but are not limited to:

  • Procurement of materials, services, and supplies.
  • Daily review of requisitions.
  • Preparation of purchase orders and follow through to expedite delivery and shipments.
  • Create Request for Quote (RFQ's) to send to suppliers to get updated pricing to covert RFQ's to Purchase Orders (PO's).
  • Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspectors and/or quality control personnel, users, vendors to determine source of trouble and take corrective action in a timely matter.
  • Analyze market and industry conditions/material costs and develop supply recommendations
  • Track the status of all PO's and follow up with suppliers to ensure material arrives as needed.
  • Maintain inventory levels to support customer requirements as outlined by the Purchasing Manager.
  • Assistance R & D with research
Requirements/Experience:
  • Two (2) years experience required in related field
  • Proficient with ERP type software and have hands on experience interpreting ERP data and creating purchasing orders.
  • Proficient use of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize as necessary
  • Ability to work in a team environment and under tight deadlines
  • Highly responsive to internal and external customer requirements, with a high attention for detail
  • Must work well with others and be flexible in handling multiple tasks.
  • Aviation related experience preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to work in a fast pace environment
  • Sit for long periods of time
  • Ability to type information into our ERP system for long periods of time
  • Must be flexible to work long hours including weekends as needed
  • Excellent attendance and a positive attitude
Other Qualifications:
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
  • Work in moderate noise levels.
