Job Description
Responsible for employee benefit administration including preparing and distributing benefit packages to eligible employees, processing insurance enrollment and changes, and reconciling monthly insurance billings to ensure proper deductions from employees and payment to insurance carriers. Process all workers compensation claims and verify that investigation and witness statements are prepared by claimants department. Report new insurance enrollee, qualifying event, COBRA enrollee, and any COBRA related issue to appropriate COBRA administrator within the necessary time frame, as well as review the monthly outputs for accuracy. Review I-9 files and source documents periodically and notify both employee and hisher supervisor three months before document expires, so that the employee may have sufficient time to apply for renewal. Maintain payroll and human resources filesrecords and archive when necessary. Assist in coordinating recruiting for new employees including preparingplacing job advertisements and assisting in the interviewreference process. Be part of the safety committee and verify that required compliance is performed. Participate in all company events, and assist in coordination of these events. In this roll you will also learn and backup our Payroll Department. Respond to written employment verifications reply and process all wage garnishment requests and make payment as required. Coordinate the year-end payroll process, review W-2s and final reports. Process all new hires and terminations. Ensure all necessary forms are completed. Run all new-hires through the INS E-Verify program. Understand and be familiar with the employee handbook to assist and ensure employees are complying with the companys policies. Assist in updating employee handbook as needed. Work with Director to assure company complies with current labor and safety laws. 3+ yrs of exp as an HR Generalist. Exp with payroll, workers comp, health insurance and benefits administration. Bilingual in Spanish. Proficient in Excel and Google Sheets. Strong communication and organizational skills.
