Primary Duties & ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the financial performance of the Industrial Optics Product Line and formalizes P&L-based metrics including revenue, gross margin, new product revenue, R&D spending controlResponsible for leading R&D direction and cooperating with the R&D team on all new projects, new technology, platform, and product development, design wins. Responsible for cooperating with operation and engineering teams to control and improve product costs structure to meet market benchmarks and meet customer expectationsResponsible for the growth of the Industrial Optics Product Line and develop capacity plans to meet the company's expectationsResponsible for tracking market trends and formulating product roadmaps to achieve a successful and sustainable business planParticipates in the establishment of Product Line strategy, coordinates the allocation of resource priorities, and works with cross-teams to eventually satisfy customers, and develops new opportunities through close cooperation with global Sales, Engineering, R&D, and Operations teams to support customersResponsible for maintaining the highest degree of integrity, concern for quality, concern for meeting and exceeding customer commitments, and concern for the personnelResponsible for meeting all health, safety, and environmental requirements and regulationsEducation & Experience10+ years of experience in progressively more responsible management positions5+ years of experience in engineering, or manufacturing, or R&D/project management, or business development of optics, optical components, or related industrial fieldM.S. or Ph.D. degree in Physics, Optics, Mechanics, Electronics related engineering fieldSkillsStrong organizational, financial, global business, and technical leadership abilityDepth technical knowledge and understanding of optics application marketsStrong customer focus and relationship skillsStrong ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and follow through with the resultsStrong communication (both verbal and written) skills cross-function and multiple national culturesStrong communication with and managing major customersStrong problem-solving skillsSafety RequirementsAll employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp.
