HR & Payroll Generalist

BrightSign, the global market leader in digital signage media players, is seeking an HR & Payroll Generalist that will help will drive employee experience with primary focus on day-to-day HR operations and Payroll. This role is remote most of the time with an in-office expectation of about 2-4 times a month in our beautiful, new, San Jose location. The budgeted base salary range for this position is $98,000-$115,000.
Responsibilities:
- Build strong employee relationships and provide support on various HR-related matters, fostering a positive work culture.
- Run and manage US and International payroll processes.
- Manage and own the benefit administration for all insurance, 401k plans and other employee benefits within seamlessly with our brokers and vendors
- With the HR Director, manage total rewards and compensation strategy, benchmarking, comp bands, leveling, and PTO policies
- Support employee onboarding/offboarding and internal transfer processes for the US and UK.
- Maintain accurate employee information and documentation through HRIS (Rippling) and other systems; including periodic audits and process reviews
- Serve as a day-to-day contact for employee HR issues, addressing concerns promptly, escalating and informing the HR Director as needed.
- Help develop and update HR best practices, policies and employee handbooks.
- Partner with leaders to assist with performance management, leadership development, and compliance with employment laws and best practices.
- Support various HR functions, including training & development, recognition, performance management, and leadership development
- Take an active approach to Compliance for Health & safety, Employment Law, Labor codes; Specially CA laws.
- Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and increase efficiency.
- Assist in the creation and execution of talent development programs.

Education and Desired Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in business, HR, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years of HR experience, ideally in a dynamic environment where flexibility and multitasking are essential.
- 2+ years in a generalist-style role, specifically with end to end payroll and benefits experience
- Ability to manage competing demands and deadlines to support various stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with California employment law is required.
- Experience with global HR practices, particularly in the UK is highly preferred.
- Experience with Rippling HRIS is a plus.
