About the Role

The Supply Chain Commercial Specialist sits within the LNGC Asset CP organization and will have the primary role of providing Contracting support to LNG Canada. This will require leadership, strong relationship management skills, broad networking and solid Contracting and Procurement skills.

To succeed with us in the Contracting and Procurement department, we need your enthusiasm to:
  • Apply HSSE leadership to a portfolio of contracts, align HSSE and contracting requirements, and integrate with the broader team to support the delivery of the Safest Project on Earth.
  • Lead in the end-to-end management of approximately 30 contracts varying in complexity.
  • Quickly negotiate challenging commercial and legal terms.
  • Deliver a challenging contracting plan as per schedule and execute all contracting requirements on time to ensure the Asset is ready for the operate phase.
  • Gain an in-depth understanding LNG Canada contracting demand, as well as local/regional market conditions and price levers.
  • Develop contracting strategies, tactics, and contracts in accordance with the Contracting and Procurement Procedure Manual including all governance requirements.
  • Build should cost models and manage the evaluation of RFP's while maintaining the highest levels of bid integrity.
  • Establish Contract Management Teams and associated Contract Management Plans.
  • Lead in the development and maintenance of the Contracts Management relationship between the LNG Canada and Contractor teams throughout contract lifecycles.
  • Develop and share best practices, work processes, systems, and tools, based on experience gained in a portfolio of independent projects.
  • Efficiently use LNG Canada contracts management tools, maintaining a high degree of data integrity.
  • Challenge stakeholders on demand and specification requirements and set expectations that reflect market realities.
  • Be self-motivated and perform at a high level in both capability and capacity.

To be successful, you will have:

Strong preference for an individual that has excellent relationship skills, leadership in managing contractors and relevant Asset contracting experience. Ability to demonstrate knowledge, capability, and competence in the following commercial, technical, and interpersonal aspects:

  • Minimum of 5 years Contracting and Procurement experience.
  • Demonstrated Asset Supply Chain Management experience.
  • Understanding, application, and continuous improvement of contracting and procurement processes and tools.
  • Contract management & governance.
  • Strong commercial acumen.
  • Managing internal and external stakeholders.
  • Effective communications at all levels of management both internally and externally.
  • Comfort/ability to challenge stakeholders and have difficult conversations to progress work properly.
  • Motivated self-starter with a track record of delivery.
  • Bachelor's degree in business/supply chain or equivalent experience.

This role requires that you:
  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada (i.e., by way of Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work permit)
  • Role is based in Calgary, located at The Bow, expected Hybrid work, where a minimum of 2 days in the office (one is a designated team day) is expected.
