Human Resources Manager

We are seeking a Human Resources Manager to join our growing team. This full-time position will support the Director of Human Resources in various HR areas, including payroll, recruitment, personnel policies, leave administration, benefits and 401(k) administration, unemployment and worker's compensation claims, employee relations, performance management, and salary administration. Our organization operates substance use disorder treatment centers across Oregon and Washington, and this role is essential to our ongoing growth and expansion.
Position Details:
• Primary Work Mode: Remote with occasional travel to Platte City, Missouri, and Oregon/Washington locations as needed.
Responsibilities:
• New Hire Orientation:
oManage and ensure consistent and accurate communication of information during onboarding.
oIntroduce new hires to the HR team.
• Supervisory Support:
oCollaborate with the Director to advise supervisors on personnel issues.
• Compliance & Legal:
oAdminister unemployment claims and attend hearings as needed.
oEnsure compliance with ADA, FMLA, EEOC, and state leave laws.
oMonitor federal, state, and case law changes impacting HR.
• Employee Relations:
oAddress employee relations issues.
oReview disciplinary actions and terminations.
oConduct exit interviews and prepare termination documentation.
• Policy & Process:
oAssist in proposing, publishing, and implementing personnel policies.
oRecommend improvements for department efficiency.
• Compensation & Recognition:
oHelp establish salary administration guidelines.
oPrepare quarterly and annual rewards for the Rewards and Recognition Program.
• Oversight of HR Functions:
oSupervise the Payroll Specialist in payroll taxes, W-2 and 1099 reviews, and year-end close.
oProvide oversight to the Benefits Specialist for benefits administration, enrollment, and reporting.
oWork with the Recruiter on hiring, background checks, and onboarding.
• Other:
oPerform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
• Experience: 4+ years in HR; remote work experience preferred.
• Certifications: PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP preferred.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Self-starter with excellent technical proficiency in Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and SharePoint.
• Familiarity with UKG software is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate across all organizational levels.
• Travel may be required as business needs dictate.
