Organization Summary: Harvest Home is Christian non-profit organization providing shelter and support to pregnant women experiencing homelessness and their babies. Our comprehensive program transforms the lives of homeless pregnant women and their children by providing housing, support, and programs that equip women to become great mothers.

Position Summary: The therapist is responsible for providing quality mental health services and support to up to 17 pregnant and postpartum residents across both of Harvest Home's residential homes as a part of our Emotional Well-Being programming.

Schedule: 40 hrs/week; schedule may vary from week to week depending on case load and resident availability.

Responsibilities:

Therapeutic Responsibilities

  • Build, establish, and maintain professional rapport with residents
  • Conduct individual therapy sessions weekly (one-hour sessions)
  • Facilitate group therapy weekly (one-hour group)
  • Conduct therapeutic assessments
  • Conduct crisis intervention as needed to address crisis and trauma
  • Input resident assessment, treatment plans, and session notes in EHR System
  • Input assessment scores and resident attendance in agency database
  • Follow all laws and ethics as stated by the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS)
  • Participate and contribute to case conference and debrief meetings weekly
  • Work closely with the residential program team to manage program goals and objectives
  • Attend clinical supervision
Residential Programming
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary service team to maintain an engaged, safe, and thriving residential community
  • Promote personal growth, independence, responsibility, and accountability among the residents
  • Collaborate with the Program Leadership, Care Coordination team, Clinical Supervisor, and other staff therapists on the provision of therapeutic services at Harvest Home
  • Build rapport and respect with residents as foundation for professional relationships.
  • Partner with residents providing support, guidance, encouragement and accountability as they work to achieve personal and program goals
  • Utilize a variety of approaches as appropriate for care, guidance, intervention, and/or service delivery such as Resident-Centered, Strengths-Based, Seeking Safety, TF-CBT, CBT, SFBT, MI.
  • Conduct clinical work using a trauma-informed, culturally competent, and anti-racist lens
  • Theoretical orientations include Attachment, Relational Cultural, Solution-Focused, MI, CBT, as well as Life Course Health Development
  • Model Harvest Home's cultural values in communication, behavior, and professionalism
Staff Duties
  • Attend staff meetings, training, and events
  • Availability to occasionally work nights and/or weekends as needed for crisis, emergency, and/or events
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualities and Skills
  • Ability to work well both independently and collaboratively as a member of a multi-disciplinary service team
  • Skilled in Trauma-Informed Care, Resident-Centered, Solution-Focused, and an empowering strengths-based approach
  • High level of self-accountability and ethical standards
  • Resourceful, motivated self-starter with the ability to manage time well
  • Excellent critical thinking skills and crisis intervention skills with ability to exercise and model good judgment
  • Strong relational and communication skills with the ability to build rapport and trust quickly
  • Strong administrative skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) required
  • Ability to set, model, and uphold appropriate personal and professional boundaries and relationships
Education and Experience
  • MSW/LCSW, AMFT/MFT, or equivalent
  • APCC/LPCC
  • Must have registration number with Board of Behavioral Sciences by start date
  • Experience working with diverse, high-risk populations
  • Strong understanding of and experience with the complexity of poverty and women's homelessness, mental illness, trauma, and substance use.
  • Education and experience with perinatal and early childhood populations is preferred
Other Requirements
  • Insured and reliable personal transportation, valid CA driver's license, and clear driving record
  • Smart phone that is compatible with work-related apps

  • Job frequently requires sitting for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
