Our client is a well-established commercial general contracting firm that has been proudly serving the DC Metro area since the 1960s. They specialize in both new construction and interior buildouts across a wide range of industries, including healthcare, life sciences, multi-family housing, education, hospitality, office, retail, industrial, and commercial interiors. With a strong reputation for delivering quality projects and a commitment to employee growth, their firm is continually expanding, including their rapidly growing interiors division. They are currently looking for a talented and experienced Superintendent to join the team and help them deliver exceptional results on projects that range from $20M to $150M in new construction and $1M to $20M in interiors.

Description

As a Superintendent, you will oversee and manage the day-to-day operations on construction sites, ensuring that all projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget. You will work closely with project managers, subcontractors, and other key stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of a wide variety of projects, from large-scale new constructions to complex interior buildouts. The Superintendent - New Construction and Interiors will have the following responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage all phases of construction activities on site, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Lead and mentor project teams, including subcontractors, laborers, and other construction personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and enforce company policies on-site.
  • Coordinate and schedule deliveries, inspections, and approvals with subcontractors, vendors, and client representatives.
  • Review plans, specifications, and contract documents to ensure that work is proceeding according to plan.
  • Manage client and subcontractor relationships to maintain positive communication and resolve any issues quickly.

Profile

The Superintendent - New Construction and Interiors will have the following qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction, with a strong track record of successfully delivering projects in the healthcare, life sciences, education, or similar sectors.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a focus on quality, safety, and efficiency.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
  • Proficiency in construction management software and project scheduling tools.
  • OSHA certification and strong knowledge of construction safety regulations.
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred, but not required.
