Job Summary

The Snap-on Assembler position is part of a team that performs assembly duties according to written or oral work instructions. The position includes manual support to production activities related to assembly of products, material transactions, inspection, and packaging of finished goods. Uses ERP software and process paperwork, maintains a clean and safe work environment. Reports work results, priorities, progress, and other related activities to management, in the support of company initiatives, standards, policies, and overall continuous improvement.

Essential Job Functions

  • Material Handling
  • Label and palletize finished product.
  • Maintain clean and safe work area, by sweeping floors, cleaning machine, and picking up miscellaneous parts in bowl enclosures.
  • Perform 5 S duties.
  • Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and subassemblies.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
  • Performs other related duties and projects as assigned.
Physical Requirements
  • Workers are required to lift packages up to 50 pounds.
  • Work may require bending or stooping.
  • Employees are required to walk long distances repeatedly throughout the day.
  • Standing/Walking 8+ hours per day.
  • Employee required to climb step stools/small ladders.
  • Repetitive fine motor hand movement.
Knowledge
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience
  • Knowledge and ability to use ERP systems such as Epicor preferred.
  • Experience in working in an assembly team.
  • 1-year related work experience preferred.
Skills
  • Able to accomplish work results, priorities, monitor work progress, report results of workflow on shift production summaries.
  • Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Basic Computer Skills, i.e. data entry, general knowledge.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Strong reading and math skills.
  • Able to work independently and as a member of a team.
