The BSI Lending Division - Secondary Marketing Manager primary responsibilities will include providing leadership in managing investor secondary marketing pricing, best execution and assuring that loan sale GOS margins are well managed. In addition, monitoring lock requests in the loan origination system (LOS) and execute lock requests/revisions and extensions as necessary with the applicable investor and/or channel. The candidate ensures data integrity in all systems for both financial and regulatory reporting. The Secondary Marketing Manager will also be responsible for coordinating with BSI Capital Markets department to ensure accurate pricing and hedging to monitor company revenue.

Essential Functions
  • Assure that loans are locked with the appropriate investor at the right price and with the right month of settlement, and to coordinate lock hedging with the Capital Markets team as appropriate given the loan type.
  • Assist with the setup and delivery of loans to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac for loan sales and best execution.
  • Oversee the delivery of loans to Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Ginnie Mae and the sale of the MSR to BSI capital partners.
  • Perform lock functions (lock, extent, relock, reprice, cancel) with the Lending team to lock and revise interest rates on mortgages with individual investors in accordance with Company pricing model.
  • Coordinate with the Capital Markets team regarding loan locks for government loans and appropriate and timely hedging for those locked rate commitments.
  • Responsible for tracking all lock expiration dates in retail, correspondent, and broker channels; extend or cancel as necessary.
  • Respond to escalation and research requests related to pricing.
  • Prepares and analyzes daily, weekly and monthly data and pipeline and funding reports.
  • Maintain data integrity within the LOS, Product and Pricing Engine (PPE), and reporting database(s).
  • Ensure accurate pricing tables within the product and pricing engine.
  • Assist with system troubleshooting, testing, and enhancements of LOS and PPE.
  • Develop training and audit checklists necessary to evaluate loan files for pricing data accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
  • Oversees the locked pipeline to ensure loans do not expire prior to, or post-closing.
  • Assist in expanding our licensing and agency approvals for selling loans.
  • Develop and advise on strategies and analytics to improve retention/recapture rates.
  • Work with Loan Officers and Processors through the life of the loan to validate the accuracy of pricing as it relates to loan characteristics and ensure the data integrity of lock detail in the loan origination system.
  • Manage the sale of scratch and dent loans.
  • Manage and expand as needed our warehouse lending relationships for financing loans.
  • Update company policies, procedures, or other processes as necessary to reduce risk and contribute to operational efficiency.
  • Review regular quality control reviews for data integrity for loan delivery and regulator reporting purposes.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Ability to sit for long periods of time is essential.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. CST. Additional hours may be required.

Education and Experience
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience in mortgage loan originations.
  • 1+ years of experience with EllieMae Encompass loan origination system or Optimal Blue product and pricing engine preferred.
  • Leadership experience in the mortgage industry required;
  • Expert understanding of TRID regulatory guidelines as it relates to mortgage loan disclosures.
  • Excellent quantitative skills and strong written/verbal communications skills.
