DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
- Prepare and review computations and analysis to support the company's quarterly and annual financial tax provisions.
- Assist in gathering supporting documentation and writing technical accounting memos as part of financial statement audit.
- Manage U.S. federal and state tax compliance process for domestic entities, including preparation and review of separate company and consolidated Forms 1120, state forms, state apportionment and tax return related calculations (including but not limited to 163(j) calculation, 162(m) limitations, BEAT, FDII and others).
- Coordinate with international team to ensure proper coding of income and expense items for use in the foreign tax credit calculation.
- Act as tax department liaison for company's domestic partnerships.
- Assist in the training and development of Tax Specialists and Analyst/Sr. Analyst
- Review processes to identify and implement time saving changes including automation with RPA or Alteryx.
- Identify and research tax technical issues as they arise during the provision or compliance process, or as requested in the course of planning or audit work.
- Assist in responding to inquiries from external auditors during federal, state, and financial statement audits.
- Review fixed asset classification and depreciation for domestic entities.
- Lead special projects as needed.
- Stay current with respect to U.S. tax law changes.
- Analyze U.S. and state tax consequences related to proposed business transactions and planning strategies.
- Respond to questions and requests from other departments and divisions on tax related matters including sales and use tax, property tax, tax incentives and other items.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required; Master's degree in Tax is preferred.
- Minimum 6 years of public accounting and/or corporate tax department experience is required. Big 4 experience strongly preferred.
- CPA and/or JD is preferred.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
- Proficient in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, JD Edwards, iSuites, Adobe, SharePoint and Corptax.
- Some familiarity with Alteryx preferred.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, analytical, and written/verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to organize and prioritize multiple tasks while being flexible to allow for ad hoc projects.
- Ability to self-start projects and self-review as well as assist staff with projects, determine timelines and goals and effectively meet deadlines.
- Provide an open communication environment to foster trust and team building.
- This position requires being on call and/or available to work in the evenings past 6:00 p.m. and/or weekends occasionally as needed.
