TEGNA's San Diego-based KFMB Stations (CBS 8 and The CW San Diego) has an exciting Local Sales Manager opportunity currently available. As the in-market field general, you spearhead the charge for our high-performing local staff. Working with a talented team of account executives, you consistently showcase your entrepreneurial expertise, keen business acumen and ability to execute against a comprehensive sales strategy that delivers best-in-class customized video solutions. These include but are not limited to two legacy television brands in CBS 8 and CW San Diego, as well as Premion, our premiere OTT offering.
Success in the position requires a combination of consistent incremental revenue delivery as well as the generation of new business partnerships. In this role, you prioritize our people resources and foster a purpose-driven environment which encourages bold thinking and recognizes elite performance. You work collaboratively with your TEGNA peers in the building and across the country. You appreciate change culture and steward a platform agnostic mentality. This position reports to the Director of Sales and is also eligible for the Company's bonus plan(s).

Pay Range
$125,000-$185,000 USD

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for establishing the pace and consistently providing action-oriented feedback to account executives in an effort to optimize performance.
- Strategic key account oversight in partnership with account executives.
- Develops innovative customer-focused video solutions using all available media platforms.
- Identifies new revenue channels and market opportunities through lead generation and qualification.
- Meaningfully participates in sales appointments and provides value in doing so.
- Expands core business by introducing a combination of new products and services.
- Mindfulness of customer satisfaction and accountabilities a must.
- Timely completion of appropriate business activity reports and forecasts.
Requirements:
- A minimum of five (5) years of sales leadership experience in broadcast television and/or streaming television. Digital savvy essential to success.
- Documented record of revenue budget achievement.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills for motivating staff and maximizing revenue performance.
- Must have strong time management and organizational skills; candidate should be able to work in an evolving, fast paced working environment.
- Proficiency with Wide Orbit Media Sales, Wide Orbit Traffic, Matrix Monarch, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
