Responsibilities:
  • Direct all activities and mentor teams in Procurement, Scheduling/Planning, and Customer Service.
  • Manage supplier relationships, including ongoing performance evaluation, issue resolution and fostering long-term partnerships.
  • Develop risk management procedures to mitigate losses in the event of product shortages
  • Identify, evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, reliability, cost-effectiveness and adherence to ethical and sustainability standards.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize cost savings and operational efficiency.
  • Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to ensure favorable pricing, payment terms and mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external customers to understand their requirements and align procurement activities with organizational goals.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to stay updated on industry trends, economic factors, supplier capabilities and pricing fluctuations.
  • Analyze inventory levels, demand forecasts and consumption patterns to optimize stock levels and reduce carrying costs.
  • Additional duties as assigned.


Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in purchasing or supply chain management.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business administration, or a related field required. Master's degree preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, time management, and analytical skills.
  • Must be a motivated hands-on leader.
  • Experience in negotiating contracts and vendor management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Products and ERP systems.
  • Experience with small to medium sized, family-owned businesses is a big plus.
  • Thorough understanding of market dynamics to optimize procurement strategies.
  • Prior experience with purchasing of ingredients and packaging commodity items.
  • Advanced customer service skills and experience meeting deliverables and furthering key relationships.
  • Certification in Procurement or Supply Chain (CSCP,CPSM) is a plus.
