POSITION DESCRIPTION
Currently HGL is seeking a highly motivated Environmental Project Manager to join our team in St. Louis, Missouri. The successful candidate will work with the current Project Manager to learn and master the technical and project management requirements for the project with the opportunity to transition into the role of Project Manager. Our St Louis office is dedicated to supporting the USACE Formerly Utilized Site Remediation Program (FUSRAP) involved in the cleanup of radiological contamination. We are looking for a creative professional to provide leadership and project management on complex environmental projects with a collaborative multi-disciplinary project team.

Responsibilities/Duties
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
The person hired for this role will be responsible for:
- Providing leadership and direction to a diverse dedicated project team of engineers, geologists, CAD specialists & other technical staff. Oversee the development of studies and strategies for remediation of contaminated media.
- Directing operations for remedial construction activities associated with removal and disposal of radiologically contaminated media.
- Directing development of engineering studies, plans, designs, specifications and engineering/construction submittals for the remediation of contaminated media.
- Ensuring accuracy of cost estimates and quality assurance documents.
- Providing leadership and direction of engineering support to construction operations to ensure successful execution of field work.
- Participate and lead project meetings with clients and stakeholders.
- Working with Program Manager and other senior members of the project team to ensure overall success of the project.
- Engage in teambuilding, mentorship and leadership of staff.
Required Skills
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
The ideal candidate will need the following as a foundation for success in this role:
- 10+ years' experience managing environmental investigation, design and remediation projects.
- Experience managing projects under federal contracts.
- Experience with line/organization management of technical staff including development of performance objectives, personnel reviews and hiring/mentoring of staff.
- Bachelor's degree in Geology, Engineering or Environmental Science related field.
- Professional Registration in field of study and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
WHAT YOU NEED TO STAND OUT
- Master's Degree in field of study.
- Experience with FUSRAP or radiological remediation projects.
- Experience with USACE contracting.
