Job Summary
The Sr. Director of Data Engineering & Analytics is responsible for developing and growing Moroch's data and analytics practice, including oversight of the design, development, and deployment of robust data infrastructure and analytics capabilities to support data-driven advertising initiatives. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our data systems are optimized for performance, reliability, and scalability.
You will also be responsible for the management of the team and managing the team's resources as client volume and needs grow and change. This includes helping to manage time, performance, process and close communication with the executive team for staffing needs.
Lastly, this person should be comfortable speaking to measurement strategies aligned with client marketing and business objectives to aid in producing meaningful marketing KPI and performance reports with actionable insight. Individual in this role must have extensive digital media data experience including an in-depth level of knowledge in digital marketing, along with experience in strategic and analytical management of digital campaigns. Note this is a hands-on role and the individual in this position must be comfortable doing their own data analysis, data collection/cleansing and development of findings that can be presented to relevant stakeholders.

Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Leading and managing a team of data engineers and/or analysts, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
- Designing and implementing scalable data architectures, data pipelines, and ETL processes to support the collection, storage, visualization and analysis of advertising campaign data.
- Working closely with data scientists and business analysts to define data requirements, develop analytics solutions, and deliver actionable insights to optimize advertising strategies.
- Implementing best practices for data governance, data quality, and data security to ensure compliance and integrity of advertising data.
- Evaluating and integrating new technologies and tools to enhance data processing capabilities, improve analytics performance, and drive innovation in data engineering and analytics, including a focus on automation and the potential use of AI.
- Collaborating with IT and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless deployment and operation of data systems and analytics platforms.
- Managing vendors and budgets for all key platforms that make up the infrastructure
- Developing and presenting reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate key insights and performance metrics to stakeholders.
- Keeping abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in data engineering, analytics, and advertising technology.
- Effectively communicates with end clients, agency teams and internal management through presentations, email and spreadsheets.
- Will be required to support new business initiatives through demonstration of analytical capabilities.
- Advanced proficiency with statistical, machine learning modeling techniques such as regression, decision trees, neural networks, support vector machines, supervised/unsupervised clustering techniques, experimental test design, etc.
- Supports the hiring, training and mentoring of all staff within the Business Insights and Media Analytics teams
Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience (7+ years) in data engineering, data analytics, or a related role, with a strong background in designing and implementing data solutions.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud/BigQuery, Azure), proficiency in data technologies (e.g., SQL/NOSQL databases, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka), and business management/visualization software (e.g., Domo, Tableau)
- Experience leading and managing multidisciplinary teams, with a focus on driving collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for advertising campaigns.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and influence decision-making.
- Strategic mindset with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for leveraging data to drive business outcomes.
