Our Product team are creative and dynamic problem solvers who dive into new challenges daily and can communicate across all levels of the organization.Additional role description We are looking for a highly skilled and visionary Product General Manager to lead the development and expansion of our Credit and Lending business from the ground up. Reporting to the Global Head of Product, this role will involve building a team dedicated to lending and credit, taking full ownership of the product’s P&L, and driving both embedded lending / lending-as-a-service and first-party lending products. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the financial services industry, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of launching and managing profitable lending businesses in both the embedded and first party spaces.Responsibilities Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for both embedded lending / Lending-as-a -Service and first-party lending products.Create and implement business plans to establish and scale the lending and credit product line, aligning with Airwallex’s strategic goals and market opportunities.Take full ownership of the P&L, set financial targets, manage budgets, and drive the growth of the lending and credit business at Airwallex.Partner with global commercial teams and key customers to  ensure the business both understands critical customer problems to solve, and which segments to serve.Establish and nurture strong relationships with key external stakeholders, including banks, NBFCs (Non-Banking Financial Companies) & other financial institutions, credit bureaus, and regulatory bodies to ensure key partners are able to scale and support the growth of the business.Collaborate closely with the credit risk team to develop and implement credit risk policies that align with lending business goals and strategies, along with managing risks across the businessMaintain a detailed understanding of the SME banking and embedded lending sectors, including current market structures, regulatory requirements, and emerging issues.Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing cross-functional team focused on lending and credit products, including recruiting top talent.Requirements 10+ years of overall professional experience 4+ years of formal people management experienceExperience in a fintech company or professional services firm with financial services ownershipEvidence of exemplary academic achievements (e.g. high GPA, Dean’s list, scholarship etc.) Proven track record of successfully building, scaling, and managing lending products, with demonstrated P&L ownership and financial acumen.Deep expertise in embedded lending solutions and first-party lending products, with a strong understanding of industry regulations and compliance requirements.Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with a history of making data-driven decisions and driving product innovation.Experience sourcing, negotiating, and securing capital and credit facilities to support business growth.Proven leadership and team-building capabilities, with experience in developing and managing high-performing teams.Excellent financial management skills, with the ability to oversee budgets, forecast performance, and drive profitability.Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.Ability to thrive in cross-cultural and cross-functional teamsAdditional Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or another STEM discipline is preferredSolid technical understanding and ability to engage in architectural discussions with engineering teams​​Experience in any of the following is a plus: hyper growth startup environments, software engineering, financial technologyWorking experiences with enterprise customers is preferredEqual opportunityAirwallex is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
