We are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Business Development professional to be a core member of our Corporate & Business Development team. This small yet dynamic team is responsible for Outbrain's strategic partnerships, investments and acquisitions, as well as other complex strategic analyses and projects alongside Outbrain's executive team. As a well-capitalized, profitable public company, there are significant opportunities and resources available to our team.

In this role, you will focus primarily on deal work, complex and high impact partnerships and strategic initiatives. Hard working, passionate, and creative, your positive and optimistic nature will fit in seamlessly and help you hit the ground running. You will work closely with Outbrain's senior management across all functions to create and manage unique partnership opportunities with long-term impact for Outbrain and affecting the daily content consumption, media and ad experiences of people around the world. This role requires a high degree of autonomy and self-direction, as well as a proven track record building partnership programs from start to scaling, a positive approach, appetite for constant improvement and a "today not tomorrow" mindset.

A day in the life
  • Develop and grow transformative BD and partnership programs that drive significant business impact
  • Lead in identifying, evaluating, negotiating and managing strategic partnerships in areas of commerce, retail and data that accelerate the strategic growth of Outbrain
  • Build strong internal relationships with leaders and peers across Outbrain's diverse business and product lines
  • Create and work with cross-functional teams across Product, Engineering, Operations, Legal, Finance, and Commercial Teams, to implement partnerships
  • Build internal support for new initiatives with a sharp focus on market opportunity, business potential, and overall strategic fit
  • Evaluate the business, resource and strategic costs and benefits of partnerships and work with appropriate leaders to execute
  • From time to time, you will support the evaluation of acquisition opportunities and be involved in cross-functional M&A deal teams alongside senior members of Outbrain's product, engineering, operations, finance, marketing, people and legal teams
What You'll Bring
  • 5+ years experience in business development or partnerships in the media and advertising ecosystem
  • Experience structuring and negotiating complex agreements and leading cross-functional groups to orchestrate and successfully complete deals
  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules.
  • Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level.
  • Exceptional communication skills with a proven ability to influence stakeholders internally and externally in a BD or Corp Dev capacity
Preferred
  • You have a broad, solid and current understanding of internet, media and advertising business models and associated technologies
  • You've led cross-functional groups to debate tradeoffs, create alignment and make high-judgment decisions related to critical partnerships and complex projects
  • You have years of end-to-end deal experience, from identifying, to developing, and executing successful partnerships across areas such as data licensing, content licensing, complex digital media/ad transactions, retail or commerce media networks, and technology implementations
  • Partnerships and BD programs you created have generated millions of dollars of incremental revenue
  • You have a basic financial background, with the ability to analyze income, balance sheet and cash flow statements, construct an operating P&L, model deals, and articulate cost/benefit analyses

The annual pay range for this position, including on-target earnings, is $150,000.00-$200,000.00. The actual amount offered may be higher or lower, based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, job-related knowledge, skills, and abilities. In addition to salary, you may be eligible for an equity package, as well as our competitive benefits and perks to support you and your family as part of Outbrain's total rewards package.
