Overview

A San Diego-based architectural studio is currently looking for a Project Manager with a minimum of 10 years of experience to join its collaborative team environment. In this full-time position, you will work closely with the Principal-In-Charge on the design development and coordination of various architectural projects, with a primary focus on multi-family housing. As a member of their team, you'll have the opportunity to be involved in all project phases, lead meetings, visit job sites, and grow through mentorship in their close-knit and collaborative atmosphere.

Project Manager Responsibilities:
  • Development and coordination of construction documents, including project detailing and basis of design
  • Leading a project team and coordinating the work of consultants
  • Organizing client and team meetings
  • Establishing project schedules, deliverables, and milestones
  • Coordinating and assigning tasks, goals, and deliverables within the team
  • Leading coordination and quality assurance reviews
  • Collaborating on design and design presentations
  • Coordinating construction administration efforts
  • Overseeing the Revit model within the office and with project consultants
  • Overseeing the permitting and plan check process with various jurisdictions

Applicants must have the following qualifications:
  • Professional Degree in Architecture from an accredited program
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in an architectural office (Might consider 7+ years)
  • Experience in the design, documentation, and construction of complex buildings
  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge and experience in Revit
  • Experience with technical aspects of architecture and assembling construction documents
  • Knowledge of state and local building and zoning codes, including accessibility
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks against deadlines
  • Ability to self-start and stay on task with excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Sensitivity to design and aesthetics
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred skillset:
  • Demonstrated knowledge in scheduling and managing a DD/CD/Permitting effort on large multi-family projects
  • Familiar with Type VA and Type IA construction
  • California multi-family project experience (K-12, higher education, and/or educational campus master planning a plus)
