The Analytics Architect is responsible for driving digital strategy by implementing data capture solutions for Nexstar Media's hundreds of websites and mobile apps. Key areas of emphasis include building out our Adobe Analytics implementation across websites and mobile apps, and guiding how measurement technologies are integrated into a revamped content management system.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Analytics, this person will work closely with other members of the central data team and partner with engineering, product and audience development groups to ensure that the right measurement stack is in place. Keys for success include a deep understanding of digital media and a willingness to work towards creative solutions to complex problems in a timely manner.
The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, passionate, organized, and can operate effectively in independent and collaborative team settings. A proven history of implementing web and app analytics is essential. It is a unique opportunity to build the digital tracking and measurement strategy for multiple businesses, including the nation's largest chain of TV stations, a cable news network and a Washington, D.C.-based political news site. Familiarity with the broadcast industry and digital video is a plus.

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Interpret business needs and translate them into technical requirements for data collection
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers and analysts to design and implement end-to-end measurement solutions that move a data-driven business forward
- Serve as a technical resource advising other teams on data collection and analysis, helping them refine their strategies and reporting
- Oversee key components of the analytics stack, including front-end data collection scripts, tag management systems, and reporting and configuration APIs
- Assist with in-depth, advanced analysis in a SQL data warehouse
Minimum Qualifications:
- 7+ years in data and analytics, market research, insights creation, and strategy development
- Practical experience designing measurement solutions for Adobe Analytics and Google Analytics
- Experience implementing and overseeing a tag management system -- e.g., Google Tag Manager, Ensighten, Tealium, Adobe Launch -- or data collection platform such as Segment or BlueConic
- Familiarity with client-side JavaScript tracking techniques
- Familiarity with analytics design for native mobiles apps (iOS and Android)
- Proficient knowledge of SQL and working with data warehouses such as BigQuery
- Experience with thorough, rigorous testing and validation of data
- Preferred: In-depth experience with digital media, including analytics, advertising, and audience acquisition strategies
- Proficiency with Python a plus
- Hands-on experience with measuring digital video performance a plus
