General Summary
The Jr. Art Director will support the Creative Director on all assigned marketing creative projects and play a pivotal role shaping the PSD brand identity and storytelling as the brand grows. They will have a strong understanding of what it takes to develop successful marketing programs targeted at the PSD consumer. We are looking for an individual with a strong background in design, complete with well-rounded technical skills and a passion for marketing, art direction and storytelling that connects with consumers across platforms. The Jr. Art Director will work cross-functionally towards the development of compelling marketing creative, building campaign toolkits, providing photography guidance and will have an eagerness to work hands on with a tight-knit team in supporting the growth of the PSD brand.
Essential Job Functions
• The Jr. Art Director: Marketing works with the PSD Creative Director and will be responsible for art direction and design in line with high level brand goals across various formats: GTM campaigns, ecommerce needs, marketing, social media (paid and organic), retail assets, presentations, etc.
• Demonstrate comprehension of current market, competitive landscape, consumer needs and understanding of industry trends to gain inspiration that translate into compelling marketing campaigns/ assets.
• Partner with Marketing, the Creative Director and digital teams in creative brainstorms and campaign concepting keeping a digital and social first mindset
• Support all wholesale account design needs, including seasonal POP update for independent account landscape
• Maintain corporate decks and contribute to brand books, large scale presentations, and recaps
• Directly manage staff photographer, provide design guidance for elevated product images, and collection shots across campaign and ecommerce needs
• Establish yourself as the main point of contact for incoming creative requests, serve as creative PM - allocating resources and scheduling accordingly.
• Partner with creative & marketing teams on photo shoot production and execution after initial direction is approved.
• Contribute to the development of, and adherence to brand and style guidelines across all creative
• Asset Management and Organization: Manage clean, organized and versioned working files for large quantity of projects and assets utilized cross functionally
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Someone who has hands on experience with all parts of planning and content creation will be a strong addition to this team.
• We are looking for a person who has creative vision and a passion for storytelling paired with strong design skills and layout experience (e.g. graphic design, creative application, retouching, editing, etc)
• Experience across software and platforms (e.g. MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator), Google Slides, Web Based Project Management Platforms, etc.)
• A creative thinker, someone who doesn't shy away from solving problems and is always learning.
• Has the ability to manage projects, manage a small team and will meet deadlines.
• Experience managing and running shoots on set
Required Education and Experience
• Bachelor's Degree in related field (e.g. Graphic Design, Illustration)
• 3+ years' experience working in agency or in-house environment
• Experience working on 360 marketing campaigns, including social media
This position is designated as Hybrid, requiring 2-3 days per week in our Irvine, CA office. The pay range for this position is $75,000 - $100,000 annual salary, based on experience.
Physical Requirements
Seeing: Must be able to see well enough to read reports.
Hearing: Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with customers, vendors and employees.
Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling: Must be able to stoop or kneel to pick up products.
Lifting/Pulling/Pushing: Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds.
Fingering/Grasping/Feeling: Must be able to type and use technical sources.
