Job Summary:The Art Director, Sports and Active brands, leads all creative brand direction for Dakine and Body Glove. This position has creative oversight on annual and seasonal brand guidelines, style guides, content creation, campaign creative, e-commerce consumer experience, wholesale display support and social media platforms. The role creates and directs all marketing materials. The role collaborates with the VP of Global Marketing and the Product Marketing Manager to execute all photo and video content, directing and briefing product and lifestyle photoshoots. This role acts as the project manager for all creative tasks using Asana and as gatekeeper of DAM for all digital output.Location:Redondo Beach, CA

Reporting Relationships:VP of Global Marketing, Sports and Active Brands

Supervisory Responsibilities:Manage one graphic designer and retained videographers and photographers

Duties/ Responsibilities:Oversee all creative brand direction for Dakine and Body Glove.Develop and communicate a cohesive and forward-thinking color, materials, and finishes strategy that aligns with the brand's identity, target audience, and market trends.Maintain brand standards across strategic briefs.Consult with VP of Global Marketing to ensure consistent brand vision and direction.Collaborate with internal departments as needed on campaign launches or specialized projects.Develop all brand books, brand guidelines, and style guides.Build out seasonal roadmaps, providing a forward-looking view across the entirety of the brand’s digital GTM.Art direction on seasonal campaigns for both Body Glove and Dakine.Prepare all sales and marketing presentations for retailer and sales meetings.Responsible for maintaining digital asset management across platforms.Manage all approvals for licensee’s marketing assets.Develop shot list and direction for all seasonal photoshoots.Project management of all creative and marketing tasks in Asana.Manage the organization of all photo and video assets.Project management of all digital tasks in Asana.UX/UI experience is a plus.Shopify experience is a plus for creating landing pages and homepage designs.Packaging design experience; able to showcase creative direction to partners and licensees.

Required Skills/Abilities:Strong portfolio showcasing a wide range of design skills.Digital first thinker, ideally in a brand/direct-to-consumer space.Skilled creative thinker, strategically, conceptually & analytically.Ability to think outside the box and visually bring to life in storytelling.Excellent layout design skills.Entrepreneur who creates custom designs on trend and trend setting.Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and Canva.Extremely organized with attention to detail.

Education and Experience:Bachelor’s degree required; major or significant coursework in Art, Graphic Design, or related disciplines highly preferred.8+ years in Art Director experience; in-house brand or creative agency.
