As the Art Director, you will lead the World Surf League’s efforts in creating groundbreaking creative design concepts and directions to push the boundaries of creativity, innovation, impact and engagement in surf. Your work will involve driving a collaborators’ visions while aligning with brand objectives. Your experience in brand design coupled with an appetite for creativity will be the driving force to create impactful work across a range of mediums within a fast-paced, dynamic and live sport environment.This is a full-time position, within a hybrid team based in El Segundo, reporting to the SVP, Marketing and Talent.Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a visionary and passionate creative who loves Surfing.You have strong graphic skills combined with forward-thinking creativity and proactivity to develop engaging perspectives for brands, design, content and events.You have a collaborative spirit with cross-functional teams both internally and externally and the flexibility to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.You enjoy creative thinking and design time for one, while also working within cross-functional teams both globally and regionally. You embrace the opportunity to work with collaborators externally, partnering with both freelance/contractors and agencies, depending on the task at hand.RESPONSIBILITIES (BUT NOT LIMITED TO):

Actively conceptualize and design ideas to build into fully integrated campaignsActively create brand marketing content through design, graphics and motion (in partnership with additional creatives internally and externally)Demonstrate fresh thinking, trends, and insightsBe a team player! Contributing to team meetings and ideations against any/all initiatives both within the department and cross-functionallyContinue to build and execute the WSL brand creative visionAdditional tasks or projects as assigned including merch design, digital design, event design and fan concepts and experiencesQUALIFICATIONS:

4-6+ years of creative agency or creative brand experienceFluent with design best practicesEmphasis on surfing, action sports and/or live sports or relevant examplesMust have strong design aesthetic: typography, photo-retouching and layoutCurrent with design, fashion, social and online culture trendsUnderstands consumer insights and finds ways to leverage themBA, BFA in design, arts, or communicationsExceptional work ethic, self-starter, team player and good vibes no egosExpert with Adobe Creative Suite, GooglePERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:
