We are currently seeking a Senior Payroll & Benefits Administrator to join our team.

The Senior Payroll & Benefits Administrator will be responsible for processing semi-monthly payroll timely and accurately, maintaining payroll and employee records, assisting with the administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, and 401(k) plan.

What You Will Do:
  • Process semi-monthly payrolls for all Aristotle affiliates (approximately 240+ employees).
  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
  • Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
  • Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
  • Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems and procedures.
  • Enters, maintains, and/or processes information in the payroll system; information may include employee's hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information.
  • Coordinates daily benefits processing. Handle enrollments, COBRA, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability, accident and death claim, QMCSOs, distributions, loans, hardships and compliance testing.
  • Perform plan audits. Prepare, collect and organize data for actuarial assessments. Review data in conjunction with actuarial evaluation task forces.
  • Provide necessary reports to senior management and the finance department, updating and ensuring accuracy of data within payroll system.
  • Oversee maintenance of employee benefits files, maintain group benefits database and update employee payroll records.
  • Provide customer service support to internal and external customers. Work with broker and engagement team to develop communication tools to enhance understanding of the company's benefits package.
  • Manage personnel files, both physical and within our HR systems.
  • Prepare reports on employee data.
  • Assist with 401k and Worker's Compensation administration and audits.
  • Assist with other general HR and administrative tasks as needed.
What You Will Need:
  • Minimum of three to five years of related experience in employee benefits and payroll administration.
  • Degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience with HR and payroll systems, especially ADP Workforce Now and ADP Benefits Administration.
  • Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, both adopted and pending, affecting both payroll and employee benefits programs, including the ACA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, workers' compensation, Medicare, OBRA, and Social Security and DOL requirements.
  • Extremely organized and detail-oriented.
  • Strong analytical skills and a thorough knowledge of plan designs.
  • Effective planning and priority setting. Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • High integrity and ability to maintain confident and sensitive information.

Compensation Range: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00, plus discretionary bonus.
Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on factors, including but not limited to, the individual's qualifications, relevant experience, knowledge, skills, education, internal equity, and physical work location within the state.

This is a hybrid role, based in our Los Angeles, CA office or Newport Beach, CA office.
