We are looking for a Business Development Manager - Refining - Americas

What To Expect
As Business Development Manager for Elessent Clean Technologies, you would promote and represent the Elessent portfolio of technologies and products in the Cleaner Refining business which include the following technologies: BELCO™ Wet Gas Scrubbing, the STRATCO™ Alkylation, and IsoTherming™ Hydroprocessing. You will be responsible for establishing relationships with refining and petrochemical companies (both corporate and plant locations), and EPC contactors to find new projects and opportunities in North and South America. This position will be responsible for establishing, managing, and growing the depth of relationships within these companies. The role will leverage your problem-solving skill set to develop and initiate strategies and tactics driving the specification of Elessent technologies in new and expansion projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build effective, long-term relationships with new customers and maintain relationships with existing client contacts, at both a site and corporate level, as well as various industry partners.
  • Develop and maintain account plans for engagement and activity with respective potential customers and engineering firms.
  • Conduct research and analysis of business opportunities through market research, financial feasibility studies, and planning consistent with the organization's long-range and strategic plans.
  • Facilitate technical inquiries by collaborating with supporting departments.
  • Establish measurable objectives to reach sales and profitability goals.
  • Provide input to update monthly reports.
  • Continually seek out and find, cultivate and secure new business opportunities.
  • Other tasks or duties as assigned.
About You
  • Twelve (12)+ years of experience that include ten (8)+ years of industry experience and four (4)+ years of experience in Business Development with experience in selling licensed refining technologies.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred.
  • This is a comprehensive sales position requiring both sales skills and basic refining knowledge.
  • Demonstrates sales ability, financial, operations, and business knowledge in the refining and petrochemical sectors.
  • Understand energy costs, energy efficiency, and cost saving strategies.
  • Strong interpersonal and effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Must possess a strong business acumen and be experienced, self-directed leader capable of planning, organizing, developing & directing account plans.
  • Ability to partner with business leaders on developing and driving regional initiatives.
  • Ability to contribute to the development of sales budgets and forecasts.
  • A thorough understanding of market pricing pressures and industry demands.
  • Ability to provide uncompromised levels of customer service.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM/ERP software.
  • Must be willing to travel over 50%.
  • Ability to travel internationally (North, Central, and South America). Spanish and / or portguese languages a plus.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
