The 2nd Shift Quality Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day operations of the quality assurance (QA) and food safety programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, company policies, and customer specifications. This role will work closely with production teams to drive a culture of quality, continuous improvement, and accountability across the facility.

Description

  • Quality Control & Assurance:

    • Monitor and enforce compliance with company quality standards, food safety programs, and regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, USDA, SQF, HACCP).
    • Supervise and coach QA technicians to perform inspections, testing, and verifications of raw materials, in-process, and finished products.
    • Investigate and resolve non-conformances and customer complaints, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Documentation & Reporting:

    • Maintain and update QA documentation, including batch records, inspection logs, and certifications.
    • Prepare reports on key quality metrics and present findings to management.
  • Training & Auditing:

    • Train production and QA staff on quality standards, policies, and procedures.
    • Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with GMPs, food safety protocols, and company standards.
  • Collaboration:

    • Partner with production teams to identify and resolve quality issues in real-time.
    • Work with R&D, supply chain, and other departments on new product development and process improvements.

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2-5 years of experience in a quality assurance/quality control role within the food manufacturing industry.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations (FDA, USDA, HACCP, FSMA) and third-party audits (e.g., SQF, BRC).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and quality management software (preferred).
