Job Description

Oversees all aspects of human resources including employee relations, training and development, regulatory compliance, compensation initiatives, benefits administration, and recruitment.

Salary Range - $75,000 - $82,000
  • Administers recruitment, screening and hiring program for all center staff.
  • Ensures compliance with all contractual requirements relative to the human resources function.
  • Monitors all personnel and employment practices to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
  • Supervises preparation of all reports required by contract and Equus.
  • Conducts wage and salary surveys, job analyses and recommends job description changes.
  • Administers wage and salary program; monitors merit increase program to ensure internal equity.
  • Administers employee benefits program.
  • Investigates all assigned complaints timely.
  • Oversees the staff disciplinary system, processes disciplinary actions timely.
  • Initiates Center human resources directives.
  • Monitors Center worker's compensation and OSHA programs.
  • Monitors Center Affirmative Action programs.
  • Develops and implements an effective new hire orientation program.
  • Develops and implements staff development and training program.
  • Prepares and conducts performance evaluations.
  • Provides staff training to center management personnel as it relates to Human Resources.
  • Oversees payroll reporting requirements.
  • Ensures Equus EEO Policy is communicated and adhered to by all staff.
  • Serves as the EO Committee chair; maintains current EO log.
  • Responds to leave requests within required timeframe.
  • Clearly communicates and consistently models appropriate CSS and employability skills.
  • Maintains accountability of staff, students, and property.
  • Adheres to safety practices in all areas of responsibility.
  • Fosters and sustains a conducive environment at the center, ensuring it remains free from harassment, intimidation, and disrespect, thereby ensuring a safe space for both staff and students to engage in work and learning.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in business management, human resources, psychology or related field; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of four to six years of progressive work experience managing components of human resources.
  • SHRM-CP or PRH (Professional in Human Resources) preferred.
  • Experience working with diverse populations.
  • A valid driver's license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record.
