Due to continued growth, we have an opportunity for a HR Generalist to join our teamlocated in Racine, WI.
Under minimal direction, the position of Human Resources Generalist is responsible for assisting and supporting the Director, Human Resources in all facets of human resources including, staffing and recruiting, policy implementation and enforcement, employee relations and labor relations and performance management. In addition, this position serves as the department HRIS resource. This position demonstrates a high-level of integrity, a strong depth of HR knowledge, and a proactive approach to HR related issues.

Under minimal direction, the position of Human Resources Generalist is responsible for assisting and supporting the Director, Human Resources in all facets of human resources including, staffing and recruiting, policy implementation and enforcement, employee relations and labor relations and performance management. In addition, this position serves as the department HRIS resource. This position demonstrates a high-level of integrity, a strong depth of HR knowledge, and a proactive approach to HR related issues.
- Coordinates employee relations issues with the Director, Human Resources, providing assistance to employees and supervisors in solving lower-level work-related problems and disciplinary issues.
- Administers Skill-Based Pay production performance management program.
- Assists employees and supervisors with questions concerning company policies and programs. Approves routine leave requests and monitors attendance issues.
- Administers the company's FMLA benefits. Communicates with employees to determine eligibility and leave entitlements. Provides notice of rights and benefits. Designates leave and authenticates and clarifies medical certification. Monitors leave utilization and initiates medical recertification as appropriate. Coordinates the interaction of FMLA leave with Twin Disc's policies and benefits, and State and Federal laws, including short-term disability, workers' compensation and the Americans with Disabilities Act. Also coordinates return to work.
- Administers the company's Short-Term Disability insurance program.
- Acts as the HR department resource with I.T. and Corporate regarding HRIS issues. Performs HR staff training, assists with projects, and recommends changes to the system to best support the needs of the department.
- Researches, develops and revises Twinco job descriptions. Evaluates job responsibilities against market data and recommends appropriate salary grade level.
- Interviews and assists in the selection of qualified candidates to fill vacant positions, including background checks, testing and maintenance of applicant tracking records. Also, conducts new employee orientations.
- Manages temporary staffing function and works with staffing vendors to ensure that operational needs of the organization are met.
- Conducts exit interviews for terminating shop employees as needed.
- Oversees employee recognition and appreciation events, including retiree coffees, service awards, appreciation dinners/lunches and other employee events as required.
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelors Degree in Human Resources or a related field desired.
- 3-5 years experience in Human Resources, preferably in a Manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of Human Resources laws.
- Generalist experience preferred.
