Key Responsibilities
- Development of ultra-compact, long-path tunable mid-IR diode laser spectrometer for trace gas detection and quantification.
- Characterize and test new products to ensure they meet specifications.
- Explore new applications for our existing analyzers.
- Continuous improvements of the existing products.
- Automation and optimization of the testing processes.
- Work closely with optical and test teams to support production.
- Assist our customer support team with advanced technical queries.
- Conduct experiments, analyze data, and write reports.
- Stay up to date with scientific literature.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Advanced degree in Physics, Chemistry, or related field with 5+ years of experience in optical spectroscopy and gas sensing.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of quantitative laser spectroscopy and spectral analysis.
- Working experience with optics, tunable diode lasers, and photodetectors.
- Prior experience in instrument design and development is preferred.
- Advance knowledge of programming language such as LabView, Python, and C++.
- Spectral simulation using HITRAN database.
- Expertise in optical design is a plus.
- Experience in assembling and testing of optical and mechanical subsystems including laser, lenses, mirrors, detectors, mounting hardware, etc.
- Experience in performing rigorous data analysis using Origin and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Ability to handle, inspect and clean sensitive optical components using industry-accepted methods
- Ability to handle sensitive electronic components, including use of multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other electronic test equipment
- Proactive, organized, self-motivated, requiring minimal supervision after initial training
- Ability to work safely with compressed gas tanks and related equipment
- Strong motivation and curiosity.
- Prior industrial experience is preferred.
