What You Will Do
Use your skills and subject matter expertise to lead the Benefits operations team for one of the most important research institutions in the world. Los Alamos National Laboratory is looking for an outstanding Benefits Manager to help enhance the working experience for our employees and their families.
Reporting to the HR Operations Group Leader, this role provides management oversight of day-to-day benefits operations including daily oversight of work, employees, and the environment.
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
Benefits Acumen: Advanced knowledge implementing and managing benefit operations with the ability to implement benefit services through various service delivery models for a large and complex organization. Demonstrated experience conducting research, investigating alternative solutions, and recommending solutions on issues affecting benefit administration; ability to proactively identify gaps or issues; surveying and assessing industry best practices; and coordinating teams to address benefits complexities.
Leadership: Demonstrated experience and skills in management, supervision, and development of employees in a large and dynamic organization, including talent development, personnel and salary management, mentoring and ensuring a diverse, inclusive, safe, and secure work environment.
Regulation and Compliance: Advanced knowledge of government regulations and laws and regulations affecting benefit administration overseeing employee benefit plans such as ERISA, COBRA, HIPPA, and PPACA, including experience preparing reports and notifications required by law to be filed with Federal and state agencies.
Planning: Demonstrated experience in defining and developing of organizational objectives, developing specific short-term and long-range plans. Ability to assist in monitoring progress to assure work objectives are attained and schedules are met through staff in support of HR strategy, goals, vision, and mission. Ability to manage shifting priorities to completion even when the path forward is not readily clear.
Education/Experience : Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and 3 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to human resources.

Work Location: The work location for this position is telework and is located in Los Alamos, NM. Telework is defined as working from offsite but within 2hours ground commute of this location. Reporting onsite may be periodically necessary. All work locations are at the discretion of management and can change at any time with appropriate notice.
Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the time required, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader. The position commitment for this position is 1 Year.

Clearance : Q ( Position will be cleared to this level). Dependent upon the position, additional authorization to access classified information may be required, which may or may not be available to dual citizens. Receipt of a Q clearance and additional access authorization ultimately is a decision of the Federal Government and not of Triad.
